Bob J. Griffin

Services for Bob J. Griffin, 74, of Temple are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.


The Rev. Bill Magee and the Rev. David Rowland of First Baptist Church in College Station will officiate. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Mr. Griffin died Wednesday at his home.


He was born in Ovalo and lived in the College Station area for 45 years. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1951 and was in the poultry business, retiring as vice president of Feather Crest farms in 1990. He was awarded the prestigious golden feather award for his work in the poultry business. He also was head of many other poultry organizations nationwide.


Mr. Griffin was a former member of First Baptist Church in College Station and was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.


Survivors include his wife, Pat Griffin of Temple; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Dianne Griffin and Mark and Carol Griffin, all of West, and Joe and Diane Griffin of Temple; a daughter and son-in-law, Gay and Steve Beck of College Station; a sister, Jane Delmas of Austin; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
