Isabella Johnston was a sister of Hannah Johnston Iredell (Memorial# 74800246) and of Governor Samuel Johnston (Memorial# 8054727). She was engaged to Joseph Hewes (Memorial# 2773), who became one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. She died suddenly in 1766 before they could be married.
