David Manor was born in Jefferson County, Tennessee, January 21st, 1833; died at his home, three and a half miles west of Ava, Illinois, Friday, August 23, 1918; at 2:30 p.m.; aged 85 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Mr. Manor was united in marriage to Miss Christiana Henkle in Tennessee, October, 1856. They moved from Tennessee to Missouri where they lived for several years then came to Illinois about 48 years ago and settled on a farm about three miles west of his present home in Jackson County, Illinois. He has pursued the occupation of farmer over all his life time.

His wife died about two years ago, and he leaves to mourn his departure the following children: Mrs. James Casteel, Ava, Ill; Mrs. W. E. Knauer, St. Louis, Mo; Mrs. E. J. Kessel, Ava, Ill; Mrs. Otto Kessel, Ava, Ill; H. J. Manor, Bloomberg, Texas; George Manor, Ava, Ill; James Manor, Springdale, Texas; David L. Manor, Ava, Ill; and Harley Manor, Ava, Ill, together with 40 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Ava Baptist Church Sunday afternoon by Rev. G. A. Gordon, following which the remains were laid to rest in the Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
