Senator Ed C. Linney, aged 60 years died Sunday morning at the Clark County Hospital in Jeffersonville, Ind., after a brief illness due to a severe cold which aggravated complications from which he had suffered for some years. Mr. Linney was a manufacturing chemist in Louisville, but made his home in Jeffersonville. He was in former years active in Republican politics and was State Senator from the Louisville District for one term. He was a son of the late Prof. William Marcus Linney and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bettie Linney, two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Coleman, of St. Louis, and Mrs. Lewis Schaffer, of Arkansas; three brothers, Messrs. William Linney, of Louisville; Charles H. Linney, of Eminence, and M. M. Linney, of Danville, and three sisters, Miss Birdie Linney and Mrs. D. M. Hutton, of Harrodsburg, and Mrs. E. C. Coppock, of Campbellsville. His remains were brought to this city Monday morning and the funeral was that afternoon with a short service at the grave in Spring Hill Cemetery, by Rev. F. B. Jones, pastor of the Methodist church. Mr. Linney formerly lived in Harrodsburg and had many warm friends here.
