Interment was made today of Mrs. Mary Banner at the Silent Home cemetery near Roll. Mrs. Banner passed away Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Foster, near Durham, where she had been confined to her bed for the past several months. Funeral services were held at Durham at 2:30 with the Rev. Fred Wright of Cheyenne preaching the sermon.
Mrs. Mary Banner passed away July 5, 1938 at the home of her daughter, Dora Foster, of Durham. Mary Ann Bates was born in Murray County, Georgia in the year 1851. On April 23, 1874 she was married to Charles K. Banner and to this union six children were born. Three sons are Hoil of San Benito, Texas; David, Durant, Oklahoma; and Charles Emmitt of Idaho; the three daughters are Maggie Homan, Durant, Oklahoma; Bird Ogle, St. Louis, Missouri; and Dora Foster, Durham, Oklahoma. Two sisters survive who are Mrs. Banner, Abilene, Texas and Mrs. Docia Clark, Comanche, Texas. She is survived by 21 grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in 1905.
In early life she united with the Baptist church.
