Our sister in Christ, Hazel Fry, was born on February 9, 1927, in Jamesport, Missouri, a daughter of Isaac E. and Eva Lena Forshay Clem. On January 8, 1947, in Olathe, Kansas, she was married to Robert Fry. She was blessed to raise four cherished children: Michael, Sharon, Nancy and Julie. Hazel was a homemaker and had worked as a hair dresser, in a clothing store, a nursing home, the Mormon store and had owned a gift shop. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star in Clarence and a current member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Hazel was a Christian by faith, trusting in Jesus Christ as her personal savior early in her life. She was currently a member of the Houstonia Community Church. She and her husband labored in the ministry of Christ for over 39 years, serving 4 congregations:Milan, beginning in 1964; Macon, beginning in 1972; LaMonte, beginning in 1985; Houstonia, beginning in 1998. She was an artist, painting with oils and also did china painting. One of her greatest joys was to paint a gorgeous piece of china and give it away to someone as a gift of love. She was a baker, lovingly known as “the pie lady.” Hazel went to be with her Lord Saturday morning, October 18, 2003 at her home with Bob and her children with her.
