An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on February 24, 1916 for Mrs. E. A. Boone, stated that she had died at the St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Saturday [February 19, 1916]. Mrs. Alice Boone was born January 29, 1855 in Todd's Point Township, Shelby County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Foster. On September 10, 1872, she married E. A. Boone of Shelbyville and they had resided in Shelbyville since their marriage. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving were her husband and three sons. The sons were C. F. Boone, a grocer of Decatur, Dr. H. W. Boone, a dentist of Champaign, and Homer Boone of Des Moines, Iowa. Also surviving were one brother and four sisters, E. G. Foster, cashier of the Tower Hill bank, Mrs. John Garman of Decatur, Mrs. Ida Smith of Hoyt, Kansas, Mrs. Joseph Deadman of Bethany and Mrs. C. C. Snapp of Findlay. Funeral services were held in the family home and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
