Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Archie and Mattie Still Sanders and was married to the late Juanita Sanders. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Daniels Construction. Willie was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the South Pacific.
Survivors include a niece, Brenda (Cleveland) Morris; nephews, Ronnie (Juliette) Bolen, Norman M. Bolen, Bates (Penny) Bolen, D. H. (Dot) Bolen; and a number of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three sons, sisters, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sanders Bolen, Maggie Seay, Ida Williams, Lillie Carey; a niece, Essie Hair; nephews, Edward Bolen, Mack Bolen, Henry Bolen and Jimmie Bolen.
