Walter M. Ament, 87, of 1163 Rose Ave., East Earl, died Wednesday at Maple Farm Nursing Center, Akron, where he had been a guest since Saturday. He was the husband of Gertrude Sensenig Ament. They observed their 42nd wedding anniversary in August. Born in Millersville, he was the son of the late Adam and Annie Millhouse Ament. Ament was employed by Frank Ix & Sons silk mill in New Holland for 33 years before retiring in 1969. He was a member of New Holland Evangelical United Methodist Church. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Jay of Palmyra; a daughter, Shirley Keller of Ephrata; a step son, Irvin J. Esh of South Gate, Calif.; two step daughters, Elva M., wife of Joseph Russell, and Mary Louise, wife of Robert Russell, both of New Holland; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a brother, George of Smoketown.
