FRANCIS M. ALLEN DIES AT HOME HERE
ABINGDON - Francis M. Allen, 68, a former railroad employee, died in his home at 102 North Snapp avenue this morning at 9:30 o'clock.
He was born at Farmington. Surviving relatives include his wife and six children.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon in the family home at 102 North Snapp avenue, by the Rev. R.C. Calderwood. Friends may call at the Tarrant Funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening, and at the Allen residence Monday morning and afternoon until the time of the services. Burial will be in the Abingdon cemetery.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FRANK M. ALLEN
ABINGDON - Funeral services for Francis M. Allen were held at 2:30 o'clock on Monday afternoon in the home, 104 North Snapp avenue, in charge of the Rev. R.C. Calderwood, pastor of the Methodist church of Abingdon.
Mrs. Lowell Whitsitt sang, and organ selections were played by Mrs. Myrtle Shipplett. Flowers were cared for by Miss Freda McGrew and Mrs. Frank Stewart.
Casket bearers were John Lund, Edward Wright, William Burns, Dell Page, Clyde Kilpatrick and George Amos. Interment was in the Abingdon cemetery.
Francis Marion Allen, son of Harvey D. and Nancy (Jones) Allen, was born Aug. 23, 1871, in Peoria county, two miles east of Farmington, and died Dec. 21, 1940, at his home in Abingdon at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 28 days, after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife and three sons, Ernest of St. Louis, Levi of Peoria and Kenneth of Galesburg, also three step-children, Mrs. Birtie Stringer of Galesburg, Charlie and John Quinn of Abingdon, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Mummey of Abingdon; one brother, Ottie Allen of Middlegrove. There are six grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. His father and mother and one sister preceded him in death.
His last employment was for the C.B. & Q. railroad and he was a conscientious and dependable workman. Mr. Allen had lived in Abingdon 14 years and had many friends who will miss his cheerful smile and neighborly kindnesses.
