RICHARD C. PHELPS

PARSONS, KS. - Richard C. Phelps, 77 died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2000 at the Presbyterian Manor Nursing Home, Parsons.
Mr. Phelps was born February 19, 1923 in Lisle, New York to Ernest and Hazel Phelps. He graduated from the former Rolla School of the Mines, Rolla, where he received a degree in engineering. He worked as an engineer in plastics manufacturing for several years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Carthage, the Carthage Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Society of Plastics Engineering.

He married Ellen Beasley on July 2, 1947 in Carthage. She preceded him in death on February 25, 1999
Survivors include three daughters, Erin McElroy, Arlington, Massachusetts; Edith Phelps, Spring Valley, N.Y. and Ellen Didyoung of Starksboro, VT.; a brother, David Phelps of Queensbury, N.Y.; a sister Mary E. Phelps, Toledo, Ohio and five grandchildren.

The body was cremated.
