Roberta Ann Riley Skidmore, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 08, 2011, at Summit Square Retirement Community, in Waynesboro, VA.
She was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Pittsburg, PA; a daughter of Charles Daniel and Velma Amber Riley.
In 1940, the family moved to Clarksburg, West Virginia. In 1948, Roberta married Allen Skidmore. They retired to Morehead City, NC, in 1993. Allen Skidmore passed away on December 8, 1996 and Roberta moved to Waynesboro in 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie (GLen) Carpenter and Nancy (John) Taylor; five grandchildren; a brother, Charles D. Riley II; sister, Dorothy Parenti and the late Mae Strain of Pittsburgh, PA.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, VA by the Rev. Neil Hough. Her remains will be taken to Morehead City, NC, where they will be buried beside her late husband in the Bayview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church, 601 West Main Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980 or to the Summit
Square Fellowship Fund, 501 Oak Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
