Early Life: Earl was born February 1, 1917, in Lakeview, Utah, to Don Carlos and Caroline Melissa "Little" Bunnell Williams. He grew up in Provo, graduated from Provo High School and attended Brigham Young University.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: He served as a missionary in the New England States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under Carl F. Eyring from 1938 to 1940. During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Corps and trained bombardier and navigator cadets. After four years of active service, he signed up in the Air Force Reserve and retired in 1977 as a major. He met Carmella at Brigham Young University; they were married on December 4, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. Earl followed his father's trade and became a masonry contractor with his brother, Max. He continued this work until his retirement and worked on many commercial jobs in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. As he neared retirement, he took on smaller jobs and his son, Robert, often worked with him. He was a hard worker and made many sacrifices to provide for his family. Earl and Carmella worked together to build their home on Briar Avenue and their home at 3489 North Canyon Road. Earl had a wonderful sense of humor and made friends wherever he went. He loved his children and grandchildren and left them with many happy memories of times spent together. He was an animal lover and had many wonderful pets. Earl loved the outdoors and especially loved fishing and playing golf. He was always grateful for the many blessings in his life. He will be greatly missed. Earl Lynn Williams died January 24, 2013, at the age of 95.
Survived By: His wife, Carmella; son, Robert D. Williams; daughter, Linda Williams-Evans; grandson, Timothy K. Evans; and granddaughter, Ann Lee Evans.
Preceded In Death By: His parents, three sisters: Vera Gray, Bessie Whitehead, and Merle Hone; and two brothers: Max Williams and Lloyd Williams.
