Merrill T. Maze

Merrill Thomas Maze, 91, died Tuesday at Windsor Manor Health Center in Indianapolis. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwood.

He was born July 22, 1903, in Greenwood. His parents were William T. Maze and Emma (Craig) Maze. He married Anna M. DeRiter May 28, 1931. She preceded him in death Oct. 4, 1989.

Survivors include three sons, William T. Maze of Greenwood, C. Wendell Maze of Whiteland and Harold C. Maze of Des Plaines, Ill.; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

He was employed by Kentucky Life Insurance Co. as a general agent for 30 years, retiring in 1968. He also had been a part-time barber in several shops in Whiteland and Greenwood.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood, Greenwood Lodge 514 F&AM and the 50-Plus-Club of Greenwood.

Dr. Mark W. Hetrick will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson St. Pierre Greenwood Chapel. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
