George Avery, aged 70 years and 9 days, a native of Galesburg, Ill., who has been a resident of this city for the past sixteen years, died at his home on Pinehill Farm last night at 9 o'clock. Deceased, who was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church, was one of the respected citizens of Harrison county and is survived by a large family, including his wife, two daughters and two sons. His daughters are Mrs. Rev. Guy Armistead of Burns, Kan.; Mrs. W. C. Scarborough, Biloxi; his sons, Rev. Casper Avery of Crawford, Miss.; Rev. George Avery, Jr., of Liberty.
