Obituary of Lilly B. Kewley

Murfreesboro, TN ~ Lilly B. Kewley, age 87, formerly of the Gulf Coast, died November 19, 2011 in Murfreesboro, TN.

Lilly graduated with high honors of her graduating class and went to college afterwards. From that point she went to work at the Pentagon as a Clerical Secretary. She got married in 1948 and began working at the Harrison County Courthouse. Throughout her years of working fulltime she worked partime at Gayfer's as a Christmas Gift Wrapper during the holiday seasons, along with teaching classes for Gift Wrapping before the holidays. She was a Professional Bowler for the Women's League on the Gulf Coast.

Lilly was preceded in death by her first husband, David Alma Byrd.

Survivors include her spouse, Mr. Adelbert W. Kewley; two sons, Gerald Wayne Byrd (Clara) and David Alan Byrd (Annell); two step-daughters, Lauri Vizzini (Nick) and Lyn Knisley (Gene); eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 24 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 25 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Published in The Sun Herald on November 23, 2011
