MRS SELMA AUTREY LEWIS, 80, formerly of 1400 Herman, widow of the late Richard R. Lewis, passed away Wednesday. Native Houston. Member Trinity Episcopal Church. Active in church work before illness. Member St Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary Ladies, First original Parent and Teachers Association, Max Autrey Auxiliary Post American Legion. Her husband Richard R. Lewis was City attorney under the administration of Mayor Fonville and Mayor Holcombe. He at one time was County Judge of Matagorda County, Head of the Harris County Draft Board World War II. Survived by: Daughters, Mrs John L. Gould, Old Greenwich, Conn, Mrs Richard E. Ballanfant, Houston; son, Dr. R. F. Lewis, Odessa, Texas; brother, Herbert S. Autrey, Houston; niece, Mrs John Rollosson, Little Rock, Ark; 11 grandchildren Services 10 AM Saturday, Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev Arthur S. Knapp officiating. Burial Washington Cemetery. Pallbearers: Frank Lewis, Jack N. Darling, Oliver F. King, Judge Wayne Hartman, John Rollosson, Owen F. Jensen Jr, M. H. Cron, Honorary pallbearers: Richard Cron, Floyd Lewis.
