Mr. Prevett, a retired machinist with International Harvester in Chicago, Illinois, was born February 10, 1919, at Warm Springs, Arkansas, to Joseph E. "Joe" Prevett and Mae Morris Prevett. He was their oldest child and only son. He married Kathryn L. Jachens on April 3, 1943, at Chicago. He had lived in Mountain Home since 1980.
He was a Protestant and served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Ozark Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Number 3246, United Auto Workers, Arkansas Seniors Organized for Progress, American Association of Retired Persons, Twin Lakes Navistar International Club and the National Council of Senior Citizens.
He was survived by his wife, Kathryn Prevett, of the home; a son, Lloyd L. Prevett, Jr., of Pekin, Illinois; a daughter, Carol Wilkes, of Saint Peters, Missouri; three sisters: Ondalee Littrell of Paragould, Arkansas; Madeline Wright of Festus, Missouri; and Patsy Jo Rapert of Pocahontas, Arkansas; three grandsons: Daniel Prevett of Albequerque, New Mexico; David Prevett of Pekin, Illinois; and Douglas Prevett of Pekin, Illinois; a granddaughter, Katie Wilkes, of Saint Peters, Missouri.
