He was born on October 23, 1948, a son of the late Hugh V. and Ercelyn S. Brown. He was a Burnsville native and resident of Ireland for 15 years.
He graduated from Burnsville High School and was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a very successful businessman in Burnsville from 1977 to 2001. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 200 VFW of Burnsville and the Sutton Moose.
He was a loving husband of 33 years to Donna J. Lake Brown and caring father to his sons, Mac Travis of Ireland, Randall Scott Brown and his wife, Christina, of Dunbar.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Gavin Leyton Brown and Ryan M. Smith; a very special niece, Melissa Blake; brothers, Steven D. Brown and wife, Norma, Larry Joe Brown and wife, Karen, Ronald Lee Brown and wife, Tammy, all of Burnsville.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Falls Mill Cemetery at Falls Mill with the Rev. Chris Stout officiating.
Military graveside rites will be provided by Lewis County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Stockert-Sizemore Funeral home in Flatwoods.
