John was the son of David Newton Duncan and Nancy Gillespie. He was married to a Mary Melinda Curtis 8086229 in 1868. She died in 1884. He then married Minnie Eugenia Ellis 80862788 in 1885. Evidently the three are buried in the same plot. It looks as if Minnie died in 1895 and John Wesley married Lula Veal 80821634 according to a 1900 census in 1896. She outlived him. He married 1) Mary Malinda Curtis 1 Oct 1868. They had the following children:
