Burial was in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, Minnesota. The funeral was at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Litchfield, Minnesota.
Ray was born May 15, 1912 in Forest Prairie Township, Meeker County, the son of Herman and Mary
Groskreutz. On June 21, 1938, he married Helen Yerks in Eden Valley. He worked for many years on a farm in Harvey Township before moving to Litchfield in 1979, where he was employed at Custom Products. He was also a member of the church men's club.
He was survived by his wife, Helen, three sons, Ray jr., Robert, and Richard, all of Litchfield: two daughters, Donna(Mrs. Roger)Gilsrud of Benson, and Darlene(Mrs. John) Carlson of Cokato: three brothers, John, and Rudy, of Litchfield and Louis of Delano: 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and two sisters.
