Mrs. Mary Ann Lenhard

Mrs. Henry Schutz received the sad news Thursday evening that her mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Lenhard, had passed a way at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Christian, at Karens.
Mrs. Lenhards death was very sudden as she was ill but two or three hours. She was age 63 years 9 months and 17 days.
Surviving her our two daughters, Mrs. Schutz and Mrs. Christian and two sons, Frank of this city and Fred of Orange, besides 14 grandchildren.
The news of Mrs. Lenhards death Will be received with sincere regret by all the other residents of the city who had known her many years.
She having been one of the pioneer residents of Gonzales. The widow of T. H. Lenhard, loved and honored for her many admirable qualities.
A native of Ireland she came to this country many years ago, growing to young womanhood at New Orleans, where she was married to Mr. Lenhard. She had lived here 32 years. For several years she made her home with her daughter in Karens. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church with this city.
The remains will arrive in Gonzales tomorrow at 4:20 p.m. And will be taking to the Schutz residents where at 5 o'clock funeral services Will be conducted after which interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

At Rest

The remains of Mrs. Mary Lenhard who died suddenly at Kerens Friday arrived in this city Saturday afternoon via the Sap and were laid to rest the same afternoon in the I.O.O.F. cemetery beside the remains of her husband who preceded her to the great beyond some years ago.

Friends and relatives met the remains at the station escorting them to the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Schutz in this city, where the simple funeral service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Chas. H. Dobbs. of the Presbyterian church, who during the service paid a beautiful tribute to the memory of this good woman who had been a devoted christian wife and mother.

A brief service was held at the grave which as its conclusion was mantled with beatiful floral offerings, tributes from friends of the family.

The acting pall bearers were W. H. Clark, W. C. Franks, M. J. Koch, Q. M. Sharp, F. L. O'Connor and R. Sellers.

Owing to illness, Mrs. Clyde Christian the daughter at whose home she passed away, was unable to accompany the remains here, however, relatives from here met the remains en route. Mrs. Lenhard's death was due to heart failure.
