Mrs. Roberts, the daughter of James E. Caldwell, Sr. and Maude Smelly Caldwell, was born in Pontotoc, Ms. on November 15, 1916, but resided in Alexandria most of her life. She was a graduate of Louisiana College and was a retired teacher having taught at Louisiana College and Bolton High School. Mrs. Roberts was married to the late J. Milton Roberts on August 19, 1938. She died at Live Oak Retirement Community after a brief illness of September 11, 1992.
She is survived by her son, Milton Caldwell Roberts, Sr.; his wife, Deedy Roberts; her grandson, Milton Caldwell Roberts, Jr.; his wife, Lisa Doll Roberts; her granddaughter, D. Dalton Roberts and her great-grandson, Milton Caldwell Roberts III.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Alexandria, La. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Schumpert Medical Center Hospice.
