Katie Sandol Martin and George Thomas Lovelace were married 29 November 1905.

Katie died in a nursing home in Bangs, TX having suffered a stroke in 1967. She was a homemaker, streamstress and raised and canned the food that her family ate. She was herding a cow back to the barn when the cow kicked a stick and put her eye out. She had hair below her waist, would braid it and pin it on top of her head like a tiara. She still had most of the red color when she passed away.

Her mother passed away and her father remarried, Katie raised most of her siblings.

Survivors include 2 sons Martin of Brownwood and Holmes of Irving, 3 daughters Mrs Otie Angenette Cason of Bangs and Mrs Zeola Frances Johnson of Lovington, NM and Mrs Mary Blanche Jones of Odessa. Seven brothers Claude S Martin of Houston, Homes Martin of Brownwood, J W Martin of Brownwood, Harvey Martin of San Angelo, Bob Martin of Port Arthur, Jake Martin of Beaumont and Kerny Martin of Houston, 4 sisters Mrs Winnie Ratliff of Brownwood, Mrs Irene Perkey of Conroe, Mrs Floetta Dixon of Lubbock, and Mrs Iris Seeger of Dallas, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
