Mrs. Talkin was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and was a lifelong resident. She was a long distance telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for over 33 years, after that she also worked at the Darby Corporation for another 10 years.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Talkin, one sister, Viola Stokes, and two brothers, Harry and Bernie Collins.
She is survived by one son, Larry Talkin, Kansas City, Kansas, one daughter, Sharon Palmgren, Dallas, Georgia, one sister, Betty Blankenship, Kansas City, Kansas, two brothers, Leo Collins, Independence, Missouri, and Eugene Collins, Overland Park, Kansas, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
