Clyde K. Byers, 71, of Alum Bank, formerly of Woodbury, died Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 1995, at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home, Bedford RD 5.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas Strandburg.
Burial will be in Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury RD.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Donahoe Manor Nursing Home or the Northern Bedford Elementary School Library.
Mr. Byers was born July 18, 1923, in Roaring Spring, a son of the late Arthur C. and Elizabeth S. (Metzker) Byers.
On Oct. 6, 1946, he married Audrey Hinish, who died Aug. 1, 1983.
He is survived by four children, Karen S. Shaffer of Nampa, Idaho; Jefrey L. of Alum Bank; Sharon L. of Clarion; and Troy V. of Bellwood; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Byers retired in 1986 as custodian for the Northern Bedford School District, Woodbury Elementary School.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Byers was a member of the Alum Banik United Methodist Church.
