Letter in the Greencastle Banner September 17, 1863 from the 21st Indiana Regiment Infantry.

Corporal D.R. Harney was killed July 6th, by a musket ball from the rebel works at Port Hudson. He was an old and well known citizen of Parke county, and left a wife and children to mourn his death. A better soldier than Harney never lived, as all who are acquainted with his life in the army will testify.
