Mr. Rudolph Monroe Blalock, 77 of Blackshear, passed away Saturday (November 19, 2011) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center.
Born in Brunswick, GA on July 28, 1934, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. Mr. Blalock was the owner/operator of Blalock's Body Shop & Wrecker Service which he had operated for 47 years. His was the 2nd oldest Triple A wrecker service in Georgia. He was a member of First Baptist Church – Blackshear and was a son of the late Dewey Monroe & Ola Mae Cannon Blalock.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Harris Blalock of Blackshear; a son, Brantley Blalock of Deltona, FL; an aunt, Ruby Lowman of Waycross; a sister-in-law, Vanessa Harris of Blackshear; two nephews, Jake Harris of Blackshear and Landis Dakota Harris of Hoboken; cousins, Jimmy & Jane Blalock and Virginia & Jack Highsmith all of Waycross, Linda & Bud Tatum of Callahan, James & Cecile Turner of Jacksonville and Royce & Margaret Blalock of Blackshear and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation:
Visitation for Mr. Blalock will be held Monday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
Service:
A memorial service for Mr. Blalock will be held at 11:00 Tuesday morning (November 22, 2011) from the First Baptist Church.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
