Effingham-Mrs. John T. (Mary Bickel) Woody,92 of Effingham died at 5:45 a.m. today at Carl Arbors Nursing Home,Savoy.
The funeral will be at 1:30p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with burial in Oakridge Cemetery,Effingham. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Woody was born in Jasper County, the daughter of John and Dora (Hazelton) Bickel. She married John T. Woody in 1920. He died in 1979.
She was a teacher in Jasper and Effingham counties for many years, was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Effingham, and a past member of Mount Zion Methodist Church,Effingham County.
Surviving are a son John A. of Easton, Pa.;daughters,Mrs. W.P. (Yvonne) McElroy of Geneva, Mrs. Vernon (Jeannette) Lewis of Champaign; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven sisters.
