Bork, William R. 81 years old of Antioch, IL passed away unexpectedly Wednesday November 9, 2011 at home. He was born July 8, 1930 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Herbert and Anna (Schmidt) Bork.

William proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and returned home to live in Chicago for many years before settling in the Antioch area in 1972. Before his retirement, Bill had worked as a salesman at Just Mfg. for many years and later as a realtor in Antioch.

William enjoyed: Birding, hosting bird walks at Ryerson Conservation Area for many years, and teaching Tuesday Morning Bird classes at Orchard Manor, Antioch. He also enjoyed reading, going to the Antioch Public Library, and researching history.

Survivors include: a brother Herbert Jr. (Liz) Bork of Columbus, OH; nieces and nephews: Pamela Benning and Caroline Romie both of Antioch; and Carol Burton, Donald Bork and Paul Bork all of Columbus, OH; great nieces & nephews: Michael, Seth, Hilary, Jesse, Sarah, and Joe; great- great nieces and nephew: Lexi, Drew, and Morgan; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Betty (Mort) Romie.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Monday November 14, 2011 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002.

Interment with military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.

Those desiring may make contributions to the Antioch Public Library, American Diabetes Assoc., American Heart Assoc., or a bird conservatory of your choice in his memory.
