Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Ward beginning 11 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, with Rev. Robert Howard officiating. Interment will be in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM, Friday, January 5, 2001 at Whitley's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ward was born May 12, 1920 in Forsyth Co., NC. She was a homemaker. She devoted her life to raising her family as a wife, mother & grandmother. She was a resident of the area for most of her life. She was also a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC; and was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan. She enjoyed watching her granddaughter play tennis for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. (Bill) Ward, who passed away September 24, 1991.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Ward Gainey of Kannapolis, NC; three sons, Bill Ward, Mike Ward and Robert Ward, all of Kannapolis, NC; two brothers, John Lamb of Birmingham, AL, Jim Lamb of Kannapolis, NC; two sisters, Ruth Kirouac of Onancock, VA, Ejoe (Tootie) Bolman of Georgia; 9 grandchildren, Chris Ward, Andy Ward, Travis Ward, Toby Ward, Zach Ward, Eric Ward, Julie Ward, Tammy Hord, Bailey Gainey; 2 great-grandchildren, Brooke Byrd and Dylan Ward.
The family will be at the home: 1402 Venus Street, Kannapolis, NC.
