Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at her home on November 17, 2011. Nancy was born November 15, 1946 to Wayne Phillip Bess and LaVon McArthur McKenna. She had a great passion for children. Prior to her illness she worked as a foster grandparent at Kearns Oquirrh Day Care Center. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She adored her pets, Boss and Princess.
Nancy is survived by her children Lamar "Buzz" Bowman, Danny (Myna) Bowman, Christy Borg, Angie (Mike) Burgess; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Jolene (Cal) Sharp, Denice (Bill) DeBirk, Debbie Bess; brothers Bill (Laurie) McKenna, Tom (Cindy) McKenna, Jim (Kim) McKenna; aunt Bernadette Hayes; and dear friends Lamar and Karen. She is preceded in death by her loving mother LaVon McKenna; her fathers Bill McKenna and Wayne Phillip Bess; her son Brent Bowman; sister Carolyn Lancaster; brothers Bobby Bess, Dennis and Danny McKenna; nephew Timothy DeBirk; and aunt Alta (Lou) Morrow.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S State, Murray. Friends and family may visit Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning one hour prior to services.
