Ora Lee McDonald Kirkpatrick was the 1st daughter and the 1st child of Calvin Sawyer McDonald and Lillie Stella Green McDonald. She married Joel Newton Shirley Kirkpatrick on Jun 7, 1934 in Abilene, TX, Taylor Co. They had 3 sons. Ora's mother, Lillie Stella, was a sister to my grandfather, William Hosea Green.

ORA KIRKPATRICK
Ora Kirkpatrick, 89, a more than 60 year resident of the Wylie Community, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 24, 1995.
Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Highland Church of Christ with David Wray and Glenn Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born in Coleman County, TX, attended Abilene Public Schools, and graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1929. She was member of the Women of ACU. She taught school at Buffalo Gap, Millers View, Caps, and Merkel; married J. N. S. Kirkpatrick on June 7, 1934, and was a charter member of Highland Church of Christ. She and her husband owned and operated Kirkpatrick's Grocery at Wylie for more than 30 years. She was active in church, community, and school activities.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Susan Kirkpatrick of Chicago, Illinois, Larry and Gloria Kirkpatrick of Duncanville, Texas, and Doug and Sandra Kirkpatrick of Abilene; a brother, Walter B. McDonald of Abilene; two grandsons, David Kirkpatrick of Dallas and Bradley Kirkpatrick of Chicago, Illinois; three granddaughters, Kimberly Kirkpatrick Shoultz and husband, Bart Shoultz, of Abilene, D'Ann Kirkpatrick of Dallas, and Kaylee Kirkpatrick of Chicago, Illnois; and three sisters-in-law, Annie Kirkpatrick, Aileen Bessire, and Frances McDonald, all of Abilene.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, David Kirkpatrick, Brad Kirkpatrick and Bart Shoultz; nephews, W. A. McDonald, Ron Bessire, and Delbert McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from Highland Church of Christ and the Wylie Community.
Memorials may be made to Highland Church of Christ, 425 Highland, Abilene, TX 79605; Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene, TX 79602; or the donor's favorite charity.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a devoted wife, a loving grandmother, a caring friend, and an understanding and wise mother. We have been truly blessed.
