Betty A. Herness, 49, of rural Ashby died Monday, June 11 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
Services were Saturday, June 16 in the Ashby High School Auditorium with Pastor Carl Ulrich officiating. Burial was in Pelican Lake Cemetery of Ashby.
Betty was born October 4,1940 in Fergus Falls to Erwin and Marion (Evavold) Palm. She was baptized and confirmed at the Grue Lutheran Church.
After her marriage to LeWayne Herness in Ashby January 9, 1960 they made their home in the Ashby community. Betty worked at the City Restaurant in Ashby for many years.
She is survived by her husband, LeWayne of Ashby; two daughters, LeAnn Walters of San Clemente, CA and Lori Davis of Novato, CA; one granddaughter, Shaina Walters; her parents, Erwin and Marion Palm of Ashby; two sisters, Elaine Krassas and Cindy Paskey, both of Alexandria and one brother, Mark Palm of Ashby.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester.
