He was born on June 19, 1882, in Petersboro, Utah, a son of Michael and Mary Elizabeth Anderson Erickson. The family moved to Willard when he was a child and he was raised and educated there. He attended Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, Utah. He moved to Beaver Dam in 1898.
On November 12, 1912, he married Mary Lavone Johnson in the Logan LDS Temple.
He served as a Ward Clerk in the Beaver Dam Ward for nine years and had been a Patriarch in the Bear River Stake for nine years. He had also served a Mission in New Zealand.
Surviving are his widow, eight sons and daughters, Virginia Erickson, Beaver Dam, Utah; Durell and Bryce Ericksen, Logan, Utah; Mrs Clarence (Marie) Bigler, San Diego, California; Mrs Jack (Helen) Howard, Overton, Nevada; Mrs Harmon (Elaine) Green, Salt Lake City, Utah; Dr Melvin J Erickson and Mrs Tom (Lavona) Steffen, Bountiful, Utah; 24 grandchildren; a brother and a sister.
Burial was held in the Beaver Dam Cemetery, Beaver Dam, Utah.
