Miss Margaret Rea, 70, 315 Elm St., died at 9 p.m. yesterday at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
She was a native of Madison, and had worked in the Foreign Service of the State Department for many years. She had served in Europe, Mexico and South America before retiring about 10 years ago.
She also had taught school here and in Cuba.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Beta Associate Chapter of Trip Kappa, Historic Madison, Inc. and RSVP. She had done extensive volunteer work at the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library.
Survivors include two nieces, Miss Ann Healy, Bakersfield, Calif.; and Miss Patricia Healy, San Diego, Calif. She was precede in death by her parents and two sisters, Libby and Emily.
The Vail Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
