PROFOUND REGRET

Universally Expressed at the Death of Mrs. John Ozmon from Influenza-Pneumonia

Profound regret was expressed throughout the city early this morning with the announcement of the death of Mrs. John Ozmon, which occurred at the Red Cross hospital at 12:40 last midnight.

Mrs. Ozmon was taken ill with influenza the day before Thanksgiving and was removed to the hospital for treatment. A few days after entering the hospital pneumonia developed and Mrs. Ozmon has been hovering between life and death since. All the care and love that skilled physicians and anxious nurses could devise and apply for her comfort and assistance were brought into play, but the fist of Him who rules our incoming and outgoings had been issued and after a brief and brave struggle, the gentle spirit took flight to its eternal home, to be reunited with her father, who passed away at the hospital only last Monday from the same dreaded disease.

Bessie Nadine Friedersdorff was born in this city 29 years ago last April. She was the second daughter of Mrs. Carrie Friedersdorff. Four years ago she was happily married to Mr. John H. Ozmon, now Sergeant-Major at Camp Sheridan, Montgomery, Ala., who arrived then days ago to be with his during her last hours. Before Mr. Ozmon volunteered for military service the couple lived at Springfield, Mo., and since last July Mrs. Ozmon had been with her parents in this city.

The decedent was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had a whole circle of friends. Her life was a rare jewel, her spirit as gold refined in the fire, ready for heaven. To the bereaved ones the sympathy of many friends is extended and through the gloom the tears be turned to jewels of promise.
