Mary is the oldest child of: John Young, born about 1760 in Ireland and (mother unk.). She has two siblings: Elizabeth McDaniel 1787 and John Young, Jr. 1795. Mary's mother probably died shortly after the family emigrated to KY (perhaps in child birth). Her father married Miss Adkins in TN. Mary has the half-siblings: Alexander 1803, Robert 1806, James 1812, Edna Catherine 1813, Jane Roberts 1815, Thomas K. 1816, Peter "Barney" 1819 and William Carroll 1922. Mary married Thomas C. Kennedy 09/12/1805 in KY. Mary and Thomas' children are: James B. 1806, Thomas C. 1808, Elizabeth Stubblefield 1810, John Young 1812, Hannah Davison* 1814 (twin), Mary S. Hopkins/Serat 1814 (twin), Laura 1818, Asa Hall 1820, Allen Berige 1824 and Nancy Mahaly Earp 1827. Shortly after their marriage, Mary and her husband Thomas moved to Maury County, Tennessee along with some of his brothers and Herron cousins. According to the Ledger of *Andrew Jackson Davison whose father was their daughter Hannah's husband: Mary and Thomas owned one horse, one feather bed, a few quilts, some bed wear, one chopping ax, one rifle gun, one coffee pot, one skillet and frying pan. Mary rode the horse and carried the household goods while Thomas walked and carried the gun and ax on the trip to TN. Mary's family had moved to Morgan Co., MO by about 1826 and then to Cedar Co., MO before 1840.
