Son of: Peter Stoll & Magdalena (Graber) Stoll

The youngest son of Peter & Magdalena (Graber) Stoll. He is buried between his 2 brothers, Daniel and Peter, his death occuring between their deaths. His wife was Elizabeth Schwartz, who died in 1926, more than 20 years later, at the home of her daughter in Jasper County, Indiana. Her body was brought back to Daviess for burial.
John was 7 month old baby when is parents landed as immigrants in New York City on April 11, 1835. His married occured in Allen County, Indiana on June 26, 1864, when he was nearly 30.
All during the summer of 1903, John was ill. In May a letter to The Budget stated, "John Stoll is very poorly with dropsy." In July the correspondent reported, "John Stoll is sick with heart trouble." the diagnosis seems to have been congestive heart disease.
In October 27, 1903, letter from Montgomery, we read, John Stoll, Sr died on the 24th and was buried on the 26th. A large crowd of friends & relatives had gathered to pay their last respects. He was in a critical condition, being unable to lie down for over 4 months. At times he suffered intensely. He bore his suffering patiently and will be greatly missed by his family and relatives. May their loss be his enternal gain. He reached the age of 69 years.
