Mrs. Clara R. Boge, 94, of Bethany Home, formerly of 970 Pleasant St., died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Bethany Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Vienna, Iowa. There will be no visitation. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on June 30, 1908, in Colesburg, Iowa, daughter of Henry and Anna Welchert. She married Joseph H. Boge on May 4, 1927, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna; he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1973.

She worked as a housekeeper in Dubuque for many years and enjoyed playing cards and doing crochet. Clara was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the altar and rosary society.

Surviving are two sons, Leo (Pat) Boge, of Dubuque, and Robert (Jackie) Boge, of Burlington, Wis.; five daughters, Kay (Gus) Balon, of Tucson, Ariz., Jean (Dick) Gratz, of Osage Beach, Mo., Mary (George) Marshall, of Lancaster, S.C., and Barb (Mike) Skahill and Terri (Bud) Spiegelhalter, both of Dubuque; and 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Joseph, on Aug. 30, 1988; and a daughter, Dori, on Jan. 5, 1976.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Clara's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Bethany Home for the great loving care that they gave to her these past two years.
