Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Friday, March 1, 1985 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Fern Anawalt

Fern K. Anawalt, a former long-time resident of Aurora, died February 22, 1985 in Duarte, California. She was 96.

Mrs. Anawalt was born in Silver Creek, Nebraska. Following her graduation from the Wesleyan College Conservatory of Music in Lincoln, she and her husband, the late Glenn Anawalt, moved to Aurora in 1912 where he was engaged in the mercantile business as Anawalt & White until 1956.

During her residency in Aurora, Mrs. Anawalt was active in local musical circles and the Methodist Church and served on the board of the public library. She was a member of the Willard Sorority and of the PEO Sisterhood for over 70 years. In 1964 she moved to California to be nearer to her children and at the time of her death, was a resident of the Royal Oaks Manor in Duarte.

She is survived by three sons; Aubrey K. of Bend, Oregon; Roger of San Rafael, California and Donn of San Marino, California; three grandsons and two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter and one grandson.
