PARSONS - Betty L. Apperson,63, of rural Parsons, Kan., died Friday, July 21, 2006.
She was born April 15, 1943, in Sherman City, Kan., to Curtis and Olive (Abernathy) Spurgeon. She graduated from Labette County High School in 1961. She owned and operated Betty's Embroidery in Oswego for the last four years.
On June 15, 1962, she married James R. Apperson. He survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Charles E. Apperson, Scott City, Kan.; and one daughter, Debra Krouse and husband Brand, Joplin, Mo.; three grandchildren, Lauren and Tanner Apperson and Briley Krouse; one brother, Donald Spurgeon and wife Mary Ann, Afton, Okla.; and one sister, Maxine Callahan and husband Joe, Welch, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were her parents and one son, James Andrew Apperson.
A memorial service was held Monday, July 24, at the Edna Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Brown officiating.
The family suggests memorials to the Labette County Fair Board and these may be left at or mailed to Murdock Funeral Home, 203 Illinois St., Oswego, KS 67356.
