Mary Lou was the daughter of Arthur William "Art" Coyle and Jessie Eleanor McClune. Mary Lou married George William Gunn on 27 Jun 1942 in Davenport, Iowa where he was stationed in the Navy for World War II. After the war George and Mary Lou moved to New Palestine, built a house on George's family farm and lived there the remainder of their lives. They had 6 children- They had 6 children- Georgia Anne Gunn Hancock, Linda Lou Gunn Carlton, Nancy Sue Gunn Dodd, Michael William Gunn, James Mark Gunn, and Matthew Gunn. They also had 19 grandchildren. I can remember spending nights there, playing in their yard by rolling down the hill, swinging on the rope swing, and overall just visiting with the family. Besides raising 6 kids, she also worked in a doctor's office. I always wondered when she had time to sleep. Mary Lou was my grandma and sometimes I can still hear her voice.
