Mrs. Cook was born on November 16, 1912 in Cherokee County, daughter of the late William E. Pierce and the late Roxie Stephens Pierce. She was a textile worker at the Goodyear Mill from 1929-1957 and was a member of the Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Clarence Cook on May 23, 1974; a son-in-law, Dr. William H. Blanchard; three sisters, Mrs. Estelle Lancaster, Ms. Maude Pierce and Mrs. Fannie Cash; and two brothers, Mr. John Pierce and Rev. Hobart Pierce.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Cook Blanchard of Cedartown; and two sons, Garry Cook and his wife, Joanne of Gainesville and Larry Cook of Rome. Eight grandchildren,eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cook will be held on Friday, April 29th at 2:00 p.m. in the Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hooper officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Buchanan City Cemetery.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Jordy Lawson, Will Blanchard, Donnie Pierce, Keith Cook, Geoffrey Cook and David Hunt.
