Garry was born in Kentucky and moved to Lafayette Indiana at an early age. Attended Sunnyside Junior High and was a graduate of Jefferson High in 1963.
Garry was married with a son and a daughter who still reside in Lafayette. He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing and hunting from Canada to Florida.
Garry was interested in dirt bikes and stock cars racing with his brother at tracks throughout Indiana and Illinois.
Garry was laid to rest November 25,1981
