Wife of Henry of Burgundy. Teresa was the natural daughter of Alfonso VI, King of León and Jimena Muñoz. Mother of Afonso Henriques, the first King of Portugal. Alfonso VI had entrusted Teresa and Henry with the County of Portugal in 1096, which paved the way to the creation of the Kingdom of Portugal.
