He was living in Huntington when he married Rebeckah Summers on November 11, 1816, probably in Milford, CT. He owned land in Milford but had to moved to Huntington before it was disposed of.
Father of Samuel (1817-1900+) married to Catherine Bunnell, Lucy Ann (1819-1900+) married to Elbridge Greeley, Simeon S (1820-1911) married to Sarah A Peete, Josiah (1824-Abt 1844 - shipwrecked at age 20), Mariah N (1830-1914) married to John E Gesner, Jason Rood, and John Walker (widowed 3 times) and Ellen Azelia (1841-1860) married to George Hulse.
His father was a dairy farmer. he carried on that legacy as did several of his children and grandchildren.
There is a death record in Derby for a John Knapp (75 year old widower) on May 7, 1873, which may be him but we are not sure. There was a John Knapp living on a farm in Bethany, CT in the 1870 Census. Still looking for his burial location and that of his wife, Rebeckah. If that is his death certificate, chances are he is buried around Derby, possibly near his daughter Mariah or Lucy.
The manager of son Simeon Knapp 1820-1911 's memorial has refused to link him to his parents.
