Robert Joel Alspaugh, five months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Alspaugh of Del Norte and Creede, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph’s hospital after an illness of a week. The lad was born July 15, 1948 at Del Norte.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday with burial in the Del Norte cemetery. Rev. G.G. Lyle officiated at graveside services.
He is survived by his parents and brother, Everett; grandfather, Joel Goodman of Del Norte, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Alspaugh of Creede and other relatives.
His visit was so short, but so sweet
We loved him so;
The present can’t be held;
It slips thru our grasping fingers, becomes immediately the past.
But what happens is ours and cannot be taken away;
Remembrance is the one sure
Immortality we know.
