Lloyd Dwaine "Bud" Gilroy, age 78, died at his home in Jensen, Utah on Nov. 11, 2011.

He was born the youngest of five children to Lloyd and Wilma Ainge Gilroy on Jan. 16, 1933. He married his sweetheart Joan Brown on February 27, 1951 in Jensen. They were married for 61 amazing years.

Bud and Joan had three sons; Michael, Gregory, and Toby, and they have five grandchildren; Jennifer, Wesley, Marinda, Jaden, and Jordan Gilroy, and three great-grandchildren; Tyler, Konner, and Charlie Gilroy.

Bud attended Uintah High School where he loved football.

Bud worked most of his life in Red Wash for Chevron Oil, where he made many lifetime friends. He retired after 36 years.

Bud's greatest joy was having all of his family together, especially camping, hunting, or even a good basketball game in the yard. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, and he showed each one of them in his own special way.

Bud coached little league ball with Ken Tripp for several years, always with a winning team. He loved all of the kids that he coached and remained close to many of them.

Bud worked in the Jr. Live Stock Show for over 30 years, always willing to help the youth in any way he could. The young people loved him. Later, he worked at the Western Park Ice Skating Rink.

Funeral services for Bud were held Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Jensen LDS Ward Chapel. Viewings were held Monday evening from 6-8 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and 1 hour prior to services at the chapel. Burial was in the Jensen Cemetery under the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
