Howard W. Converse

Army veteran, served in World War II

Howard W. Converse, 87, of Colby Court, Bedford, N.H., died unexpectedly June 28, 2004, at home.

Mr. Converse was born Nov. 30, 1916, in Nashua, son of the late Walter Charles and Effie Maude (Wentworth) Converse. He had most recently resided in Bedford, and previously resided in Portsmouth, Hampton and Manchester.

Mr. Converse had been employed at Kennedy's Clothing Store for three years, J.J. Moreau Hardware in Manchester for 10 years and the Bank of New Hampshire in Manchester for 10 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 388th Infantry.

Mr. Converse was educated in Amherst.

He was predeceased by an infant brother, Robert Russell, and three sisters, Alice Ackley, Ernestine Prior and Evelyn Russell.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
